At our school your child will enjoy an education that challenges and excites. We believe that every child has talents and our job is to help your child make the most of their natural ability.
We have high expectations for our students and believe that, with high quality teaching and the right individualised approach to learning, students can all achieve at a high level.
We care about all our students and we want the best for them educationally but also socially and emotionally
Academics at BISO
Our British Curriculum leads to GCSE (at age 16) and A Level examinations (at age 18). These are qualifications that are recognised by universities and employers around the world.
The curriculum sets out specific learning objectives for every year group, with a well structured and coherent progression to learning from early childhood all the way to university entrance.
Our STEAM Education is based on strategies designed to engage students in learning at high standards , including academically based community service, civic education, environmental education, place based learning, service learning, and work-based learning.
Our teachers inspire student in every classroom with a simple, powerful, and comprehensive digital learning environment.
As a STEAM School, we are dedicated to offering our students a wide-range of opportunities to allow each student to develop their skills and pursue their individual interests.
To facilitate this, we have both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Activities include both individual pursuits and team building activities for all students.
We believe that students should be exposed to opportunities to learn about workplaces from the beginning of their Senior School years. We aim to offer students a programme of advice and guidance that is stable and structured so as to enhance their curricular experience.
From Year 7 to graduation students learn to recognize the value of mentorship within the workplace, are exposed to various professions, can link curriculum learning to careers, and increase in confidence and communication skills. We believe that this better prepares them for post-Sixth Form education while building a cohesive group of learners and educators within the local community.
These days, there’s a lot more to a university education than obtaining a world class qualification alone. Here’s how we prepare our students for university and the world of work:
- Development of employability skills:
- Interest and experience in their future study courses:
- Improved career prospects
- Development of personal and social skills:
Whether we are lucky enough to teach your child for a few years or many more, the lessons they learn at STEAM will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
Our school follows the British curriculum. Our aim is to enable our students to leave The BISO and head for the college of their choice as well as many of the world’s leading universities
